Boat Tests:
Boating New Zealand Magazine - February 2004

With brilliant handling and performance, this exciting new variable deadrise trailer boat was inspired by John Haines' 40 years experience designing countless thousands of high performance craft for New Zealand and Australian boating families and ski racers.

The Five50 moves fast, handles brilliantly and it turns on a dime - the cut away transom producing minimal drag. This boat is sheer fun to drive.

Special features include a large cabin with plenty of head room, spacious cockpit, very comfortable seating with high grade Nautolex vinyl, snap in marine grade carpet (easily removed for cleaning), stainless steel boarding ladder and convenient stainless steel handles. Storage abounds with rod holders, side pockets, space under the cabin squabs, in the seat pedestals, under the rear seats and even a bait bin.

This brilliant craft has the underfloor cavities foam filled with high pressure injected closed cell polyurethane (Pu.FF) to round off a superbly appointed safe user friendly quality package from Haines Signature.

The Five50 functions extremely well for fishing the lakes or the sea, cruising comfortably or water skiing, in essence a true multi function craft which can also easily handle the very rapid weather changes we experience in our island nations waterways.

When it turns rough out there the Five50 will bring you home safely and at speed - you'll enjoy watching other craft slowly displacing their way through the heavy chop with the occupants getting drenched as you skip across the waves.
